About Simply Spoken Entertainment

Simply Spoken Entertainment was created out of a need.In El Paso, open mics and performance spaces often felt closed off—cliquish, repetitive, and limited to the same voices. At the same time, there was no shortage of talent. Poets, performers, and creatives were looking for a place to step on the mic, be taken seriously, and be heard—even if only for one night.As poets ourselves, we wanted more than a bar crowd stumbling into poetry. We wanted people to arrive intentionally—to experience spoken word and live performance as the main event, not the background noise. We wanted an atmosphere with purpose, energy, and care. A space where the vibe was intentional and the experience felt elevated.Simply Spoken Entertainment is a collective built around that vision.
We curate spoken-word and live-performance experiences that blend powerful artistry with thoughtful production. Our events often include local vendors, collaborators, and creatives—favoring community partnerships over franchises—so that every show feels rooted, authentic, and alive.Beyond the stage, Simply Spoken exists to support artist development.
